hey does anyone know how to get rid of the ethernet logo from the status bar (the bar with the date and time). I click on it and it says No PPPoe configurations were found.

thru Network preferences. but the easiest way is too hold command and then click and drag it off.

The simplest method is to simply Command-click and drag the icon from the Menu Bar – it'll disappear in a little puff of smoke.
