Hey all,
Wanted some help. How do i go about changing the icons in my dock and for the desktop. I know about the sites to get them, just unsure of how to change them. All help is appreciated.

Wanted some help. How do i go about changing the icons in my dock and for the desktop. I know about the sites to get them, just unsure of how to change them. All help is appreciated.

To change the icons in the dock, you must first find the original file (dock icons are links).

1.To do so, right click (control click) and select 'show in finder' in the resulting menu.

2. Select the item in the finder window that popped up, and go: file>get inf, and select the icon and paste in a new image (one already copied to your clipboard)

For non-dock items proceed with step no. 2

* Note: Some things such as your volume icon, may or may not be able to be changed with your account privileges.
