MacBook in Gold - did anyone get it with the 1-3 day estimate?

I waited like most of you at 12am. I put the 1.2/512 Gold MB in my cart and it had the 1-3 day estimate for shipping. By the time I validated the order info and hit the Place Order button the final page already had a 3-4 week shipping estimate. Apparently the 8 minutes I took to complete my order was too slow.

So did any of you get it with the 1-3 day shipping estimate? What configuration did you get it in?

I ordered the Gold 1.2/512 as late as 3:18 AM EST and got 1-3 shipping days, it is already prepared for shipment.

Thanks Nathan. That indeed was my question - 1.2/512. It just seems odd that they ran out in the time it took to verify my order info.

Either it's a runaway hit or they just didn't have enough to begin with. I don't think the iPhones ever sold out THAT fast.

That's crazy! Unless they're using regionalized shipping centers. Are you west coast US?

Based on the first gold iPhone's popularity, you'd think Apple would have better anticipated the demand for a gold MB.

On the other hand, a giant gold laptop is less subtle than a gold iPhone.

All I know is if Apple releases a TV, I'd make sure to order ASAP if I wanted the gold one

What time did you order? The only reason I waited so long was because that's when I was able to load the Safari browser to make the purchase. I needed to use Apple Education discount and it wasn't allowing me to on the phone app. Otherwise I had the ability to order it sooner through that app.

Maybe they open the Store from East to West coast to prevent everyone ordering the same time and overwhelming their servers. Whatever the case, by 12:19am it was all over for me on the West.

I felt the store camp about about 3:02EST (12:02am), because I finish my order about 3:10EST, and it shows 1-3 days shipping on the confirmation page.
Anyway, although it is 1-3 days shipping, the expected delivery time is still 20-22, about 1.5 weeks later...

Mine is expected to deliver April 16 to 20, but I paid $10 extra for expedited shipping though.
