Hi, I'm new to Mac as of this year. I made the transition to an aluminum Macbook 13', purchased from the apple website.

I'm not the best at tech and I need some help. I have a D-Link wireless router connected to a pc on the main flood of my home. I run the d-link off that computer and it connected two other laptops to the internet. The problem that I am having with my Mac is that for some reason it times out specific web pages. I use the Firefox web browser, and the sites that I am not able to access due to the timing out issue are email web sites (like hotmail/ gmail) and this website actually. I was able to access this site with my mac, but when it came time to signing up, I couldn't go through the process and I am not using my Mac laptop.

I have contacted my service provider, and they said it is not a problem with my modem. I have rest my D-Link wireless router to its factory settings and reinstalled it. Previously I was using a high security feature, which I though may have caused the problem but turn out isn't.

The funny thing is, this only has been happening on my home network. For some reason I can go to my girlfriends house and connect to her network with no problems at all with accessing my email web sites. The problem only happens at my house. It is not a signal strength issue, as I can access many other web sites.

Any ideas at all are more than welcome.
