Sorry if this isn’t in the correct part of the forum.

I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro that has an issue with the screen when I move it back and forward.

Does anyone have any ideas on the fault of this is one they have seen before? I know it’s an old machine but it still works a dream and I use it from time to time for some admin.

I do think there’s a cut/issue with the
display cable.. Hopefully its an easy fix
 
The video cable runs through the hinge area.
It flexes every time you move the lid.
It's not unusual for that movement to eventually cause the video cable to fail. Common symptom is intermittent flashing as you move the hinge.
 
Looks like a loose cable.
If when you "let it go", the picture remains stable, I'd just "let it be".
It's 11 years old.
Not worth spending to get fixed now, unless the fix is REALLY cheap.
