Seen a good deal on a brand new Macbook 12" June 2017 its the basic model 1.2GHz dual core m3, 8Gb RAM, 256 SSD, Intel HD615 graphics
Currently have my iMac late 2012 but tbh doesn't get used much now, only by me as kids have laptops, iPad's etc now.
Now in fairness theres not much wrong with the iMac, I still use for mainly my photo library, basic editing, converting, just think it's getting a little slow now. It has a 1Tb fusion in and photo library is 600Gb now.
If got this I suppose if have to use a USB-C external drive to hold my photo library, or stop using the "download full resolution photos" option.
I have started to look at other options, don't think ready to fully go no Mac yet, and just use iPad's etc. Like refurb iMac, or even a mini.
What I'm thinking is this can beam to Apple TV's. Is this a good option to then use on my TV for what I would on my IMac. As in editing etc? Is the resolution good on it? Would you just use the keyboard on the MacBook and use the TV as a screen? This sounds good compromise?
I probably wouldn't use as a laptop much, prefer if possible to use with a monitor or a TV if good experience and suppose in this way a laptop.would be better than a Mac mini?
how would this compare to my late 2012 iMac specs, much of a difference?
Would this run 4K video for editing?
Thanks
