macbook keeps crashing whilst streaming?

my mac is a bit of a relic, its a 2005? macbook pro but it still works, sort of. every time i try streaming from the net i get a whirring noise coming from the fan the a couple of minutes/seconds later it shuts down. Ive been told its a hardware problem but ive got the latest version of flash and ive had a new fan installed and neither have helped, it still heats up and shuts down. is there anything that can be done before i throw it against the wall? cheers
