Whenever I shut my laptop or it goes to sleep, it has to restart, it cannot just wake up again and I have no idea why. The little light at the bottom stays on like normal but it just keeps restarting. I looked through all the system preferences and it didn't help at all. Any suggestions?

Do you have anything connected to the MacBook when you close it? (i.e., External USB hard drives or displays)

No nothing connected. It happens too when it just falls asleep after being inactive for awhile

Does the same thing occur when you create a new user account and put the computer to sleep from there? That would help narrow the problem down to something potentially being corrupt.
