The period key on my 13" 2008 Unibody MacBook is coming off - it is loose and lifting away so that the underside is visible.

It doesn't yet come away completely and still functions just fine. Should I take it in to an Apple store to get looked at, or will it be fine for a couple of weeks whilst I finish university for the year? I ask as I do not want to be at university without a computer.

If I were to take my MacBook in for a repair - how long is it likely to be in for? I have 4 days before I go back to university and I realise that it is unlikely to be repaired in so short a time.

They'll swap a key on the spot if they have one, just sounds like somehow the hinge has become damaged, they'll just replace the hinge.

Cheers! Looks like a quick swap then.

The 'period' key? Come again?

Edit: Oh, you mean the full stop. Sorry, completely forgot that that's what the Yanks call it lol :D

Worst part is I'm not even a yank, I just called it that for ease of communication.

I had this same problem a few months ago, I took it to the Apple store and they fixed it in about five minutes.

Oh, you Brits. I didn't know you called the period key the full stop. It's going to be a bit of an adjustment when I'm there for a year.
