I've had my macbook for six months now and in the last two a strange thing has been happening to it. About once every two weeks, when I switch on the mac the caps lock and num lock keys are on and nothing else is responsive on the keyboard. When I reset all is fine but it's still annoying.

I can't really take it for repair as I have no way of showing it to a genius or whatever because it happens randomly.

Does anyone else get this or similar? Any suggestions?

could be a hardware problem. just spend sometimes explaining what's wrong with your mac to a genius and you should be covered under warranty. sorry i can't be of much help! good luck

My MBP did it too after recent software update

Apple key would not work. Other keys worked but some were locked in NUM mode. Had to recycle the laptop to free the problem. Only happened once so far.

Recycle?

Yeah I guess I'll have to try and get in contact with a genius or something. The nearest store is 40 miles away!!!

Is there a way to phone a genius?

Thanks for the help.
