This is a Silicon MacBook Air M1 that I purchased in March last year. It's in really good condition, but whenever I close and open the monitor, the keyboard and trackpad stop working. Only the power button works, and the only solution is to reboot by holding it down for a long time.
My daughter, who is living in a dormitory, told me that it had been like this from the beginning, but I only found out after the warranty had expired. I tried backing up with Time Machine and then restoring twice using the system recovery option, but both times the keyboard and trackpad stopped working as soon as I closed the monitor. Even in safe mode, the same thing happened.
I went to the service center yesterday, and they said there was no hardware problem and suggested that I do a clean install. They told me to come back next week, but due to my schedule, I just took it home and tried to do a complete reinstall using a bootable USB with Ventura. I erased the disk partition four times and reinstalled, but the same problem still occurs.
Is there a type of clean install that I am not aware of that the service center is referring to? Of course, I also restored the firmware.
