D DmbShn41 macrumors 6502 Jun 22, 2009 295 2 Feb 27, 2014 #2 What kind of hard drive are you using? OS? Could be signs of a failing HD, or possible bad SATA cable. Have another HD available? Do a quick install of OS on it, and just boot it. See if times are comparable.

I have a 500GB Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid Drive, I have a spare 320GB that was used before I got this, I could try that out.
