Late 2009 MacBook I just salvaged from the garbage heap.
Wouldn't boot... come to find out that it will not start up with the battery plugged in.
Scenario: power via magsafe > battery plugged in > light is green > press "power" button > nothing > disconnect from battery and the MacBook starts booting > re-connect battery and the MacBook seemingly goes to "sleep" > remove battery and it "wakes up"
I'm still troubleshooting the process, but it seems that I am able to power down the laptop using the power button, but even with the battery removed it will not power back on with the power button.
Will a simple battery swap do the trick? Can I use a 2012MBP battery (doesn't fit in the case, but the connection is the same) to diagnose?
