Macbook lid gap

I noticed this morning for the first time that my MacBook lid wouldn't close all the way. I thought maybe my earphones were inside of the lid, but they weren't, it just simply wouldn't sit flush with the rest of it. The right side of my screen latchs fine, but the left side won't. If I push the lid down a little it'll reduce it, but other than that nothing. Is this normal? It's a tad annoying, and I don't like it. Should I go get it fixed or something? My MacBook is the late 2009 model.

yeah, doesn't look normal. maybe call apple, unless you did in fact cause accidental damage?
