Macbook Logic Board Upgrade

I've recently started upgrading my old macbook and started reading about processors. From what I've read all the processors are soldered to the logic boards making upgrading the processors very difficult if not impossible. I was wondering if a person could upgrade the whole logic board from say a Core Duo 2.0 GHz Logic Board with a Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz Logic Board. I don't think I am willing to fork over the $700 for it, but was curious if it could be done.
