This seems to be a very common problem in Mountain Lion as I have no sound in my apps. I can hear sound as I adjust the volume up and down but my apps (i.e. MS Office, etc.) have no sound until I reboot my Macbook. I have not yet tried to reset the NVRAM as it may not be the culprit as I think its a bug in Mountain Lion. Is anyone else having this problem?
