It's been years since I've upgraded my Mac. Not loving the new MBP's price so I'm looking at the 12" Macbook instead. While I recognize these Macbooks are not really geared to pros, my work is primarily in print and some web design.

Currently I've got an old 2010 MBP 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo hooked up to a 24" display.
How do you think the entry level M3 Macbook would fare against my current set-up? Newer CPU and GPU should help, no?

I'd need a dongle/hub for sure.

I run Photoshop and Illustrator without any problems. Not quite as snappy as my Dell desktop with 16GB memory and i7 but have to say the difference is less than you'd think. It really only is noticeable when opening multiple raw files out of Lightroom into Photoshop at the same time.

Zero lag when actually using tools. You will be pleasantly surprised.
