Hey. Ok, so sometime a few weeks ago, I realised that 1 of the 5 pins on my Magsafe was pushed in. I tried prodding it but it seemed well and truly stuck. However, my MacBook still charged, and if it didn't, a wiggle of the magsafe would do the trick.

However, a few nights ago I was using my MacBook (13" white 2.0ghz, got it August 08, so it's not very old at all) with the magsafe plugged in, and after only about 5 minutes I heard a strange humming/buzzing noise from around the area where the magsafe is connected, so I quickly turned off the socket, unplugged it all and realised that the little magnetic part that actually connects to the MacBook (with the LED indicator) was really really warm, and this was after only 5 minutes normal use. After a little look I also discovered that another 2 of the 5 pins were now in, however they freely moved around as I shook the magsafe, unlike the 1 that was stuck.

The next part, maybe wasn't the best idea, but I've held the magsafe at such a way that the 4 pins stick out, and connected it to my MacBook. I got it to power on, however, the LED on the magsafe was green, and the battery indicator in OSX said 0% and that the battery was not charging. The lights on the bottom of the battery are all off except the one nearest the button, which flashes fast when the button is pressed. I powered off after this, as I don't want to cause any avoidable damage, until I know it won't.

Ok, if you're still with me after all that, thanks :p. Firstly, I know for a fact that I'll need a new Magsafe. Will Apple replace this free of charge, since the pins seem to have broken without me doing anything- it just happened.
Second, does it sound like my battery is dead/dying? And will Apple replace that, if a new Magsafe doesnt solve the problem?

Thanks for any help in advance.:)
