I'm working on my wife's MacBook 2.16 GHz 1 GB RAM with 10.5.6. Great machine that we purchased from Craigslist. It is in great shape and has been preforming wonderfully.
I've been using it here for about two hours and have noticed a slight tick noise that occurs ever 3 - 5 minutes. It sounds like it may possibly be the hard drive. I had a bad toshiba once and had to replace the hard drive 3 times. The tick noise sounds similar to the way my toshiba sounded at the beginning of the failure.
Has anyone heard this noise or know anything that relates to this?
