Hey everyone

I bought a white macbook 13 last week and it made strange clunking noises. So today I went to the store and got a new one and this one makes the same noises. Does anybody have the same problem? should i keep it? Its a bit annoying...and its new! How come its making the noises?

Thanks for your replies in advance!

There really aren't many moving parts in these things anymore. If it's clicking, it's a fan (usually these WRRRRRRRR), the hard drive (they click before they fail) or the laser in the CD/DVD drive.

I would think thats the sound of the hard drive reading and parking. It's nothing to worry about.

HI!thanks but how can i get rid of that?its really a bit confusing when im in bed working and it doesnt 'shut up',:)

the macbook i returned clicked twice regularly, and this one clicks once in regular intervals. it sounds pretty much like the click of a mouse pad.
