I'd just buy two seperate sticks, but I wouldn't get them from newegg (return policy sucks) I'd go with OWC (where I got mine).

Thanks, Matt.

I feel sort of bad going for the "matched pair" set. Not only is
an extra 20 bucks but also does not sound too convincing this will make
any difference at all...

I have not had any bad experience with Newegg so far but maybe
I was just lucky.

It will, but everyone has a hard time explaining why it does. :)

Just trust apple, and know that it's running faster because they are matched.

Get them matched. I got 2GB of tasty goodness in my MacBook. If you want an explaination seek out CanadaRAM.

Uh, I do not argue about the benefits of doubling the bandwidth...but, AFAIK,
there is no physical difference between the sticks. What one needs is just
the same size, speed AND amount of chips per side, right ? Therefore,
paying these extra 20 bucks is just for the sake of having a guaranteed
matched pair and nothing else.

Thanks for your replies !

You can buy the exact two single 1GB sticks and save yourself 20 bucks.
