Black Macbook 2.4 with 2GB. Trying to upgrade to 4GB but won't start after install. Front light comes on but that is it. Pulled one of the new 2gb and replaced it with one of the old 1GB and it loads fine. Swapped new 2gb with new 2gb and it still works but not when installed together. Any tips?

Install the RAM that works, open up System Profiler, look at the RAM type/speed.

Shutdown, install the other RAM that works by itself, and look at the system profiler.

I assume speeds will be different?

Won't load on a single 2GB. Has to have a 1GB with it. But I tried with each 2GB's and they are the same.

memory- 3GB
bus speed- 800mhz

Bus Speed means nothing.

You need to click on the left side there where it says "Memory"
