Macbook Mid 2007 2,1 - possible to force 2GHz

Have a white mid 2007 here. I have 2 batteries both showing not installed when installed sadly.

I guess if theres anyway to verify that its not the machine and just the batteries that'd be a good start.

My instinct is that the batteries are dead though. One is the original that I replaced with a 3rd party and those don't have a great reputation anyway…

What i'd really like to do is find a way to force the macbook to run at 2GHz with no battery installed. I dont really need for it to be portable / powered by battery anyway.

Anyone have any thoughts?

If you were on Snow Leopard and under, there might have been a way. As it is, I think you're somewhat out of luck.

Thanks for the reply Bill - appologies for the delay in responding.

Ive managed to source another battery from an old friend today - so I'm back to 2GHz via the old school route
