Macbook - mini DVI to VGA

I want to play a 720p MKV video file using the adapter into my HD Television. Does the adapter support this?

I have had a full 1080i signal going through mine to a tv's VGA port before.. at least I think it was 1080i, so a 720p file should be fine. I assume you are having issues with it considering you are posting on here and not just trying it, right? hope this helps!

Doesn't matter about the file size - all the adapter does is change the mini-DVI output to VGA. It's just an output, your video should work fine.

OK thanks - on my way to the shop and will post back my results. I may also try DVI to HDMI...
