Got a macbook with some monitor issues. Its the unibody 13inch from 2008.
Basically every once in awhile, not every time you open it, there is a 1" vertical area, top to bottom, in the near center of the monitor that is distorted, similar to a channel that doesn't come in on your TV, like TV static. This is a hardware issue for sure (doesn't show when you take a picture of the OS). I've tried reseting p-ram, it went away for a bit but is back almost all the time now.
My first thought is possibly a loose connection... I've done a bit of maintenance with my older ibook and am not afraid to open of the computer if it is a simple fix or loose connection.
Any ideas?
