ok guys, i have a little question.

well recently i have been seeing my macbook pro's name has a (2) on it, The actual name is "Denizhan Uykur's Macbook Pro".

BUt now it changed to "Denizhan Uykur's Macbook Pro (2)", being as geeky as i am i know that that signifies that the name i chose is a duplicate of another name, i find this impossible because who else has the name Denizhan Uykur.

I'm new to mac's so can you help?

go to system preferences, then click sharing, then you'll see your macs name. Click edit.

Tada

Did you have a previous Mac with the same name? If they are both on the network at the same time that is exactly what happens, it renames the second one so there is no conflict.
