Hi
I just upgraded my MacBook (unibody late 2009) with a 500GB seagate moments hard drive and 8GB of kingston apple memory.
Everything seems to be working OK with the exception that backing up using time machine seems to be running at a snail pace.
I am using a 500GB USB western digital external drive and had no problem backing up before. Could the problem be that the name of the internal hard drive has changed?
I had updated to OSX Lion before the upgrade and had backed up OK.
Any ideas?
Andy:confused:

Time Machine uses the UUID of the hard disc and having found a new UUID (new disc) it will be doing a complete backup rather than just an incremental backup.

So depending how big a complete backup is then yes it could take a while.....

Nothing to worry about unless the external drive isn't very big !!
