I have the Mid 2010 MacBook, it seems to support 16gb of ram just fine since im on Mountain Lion and have the latest EFI update i believe.

I get the single beep code with pauses in between.

Its 1333mhz, And i thought that would work fine. It seems to work fine with just one stick of 8gb and then the standard 1gb 1066mhz stick, giving me 9gb of ram. But i would like to have the full 16gb. Anything i can try?

That machines maximum is 8GB. While it will see 9GB and even greater amounts, it won't be able to utilize it.

OWC confirms it is able to utilize it.

It's the speed settings. We were monkeying around at work with a client's MBP (2010), turns out it can only run 16gb if its 1066 RAM, not 1333. Very odd but I know thats because 16 isn't officially supported, but works with the right kind.

Great.

Alright thanks, looks like im going to have to replace it.

A 2010 13" MBP is actually able to utilize 1333MHz RAM, if it's specifically designed for 2011 Macs. It's really picky about it, but the right RAM will work.

I knew there was a slight difference between the RAM my 2009 mbp and the 2010 models in terms of what it can accept, thanks for clarifying.
