The distant future
I have a Macbook that i bought from a friend of mine (i'm not sure on the year). It's running OS X 10.4.11 and lately it hasn't been starting up most of the time. The screen will flash a bit and then go blank or it will begin booting up with the apple symbol and the spinny wheel then go blank. When the screen goes blank the white light comes on like as if it was in sleep mode.

I've reset the pram many times and usually it will let it start up but won't fix the problem.

I've checked the ram to make sure it's in right and it is.

My friend had no such problem with this computer and it started showing up just a few weeks ago.

Anyone know of any solutions?

You could also try resetting the SMC.
I tried to link the support article but Apple's website seems to be 'under maintenance' right now..

I've tried that before, didn't work. Helped sometimes because my computer actually did turn on but the next day it still took me three o four tries to boot up.
