MacBook not displaying Icons

I have a core duo iMac and MacBook and I have a folder with many different icons which are easily viewable on my iMac. However on my MacBook the icons are displayed as folders, and inside the folder is a file called Icon. There is nothing in the file.

What on earth is going on here?
