I'd be very grateful for some help with this...I subscribe to Virgin media (Blueyonder) for broadband and have had no problems until recently when the computer stopped talking to the modem (motorola surfboard).
I've phoned the virgin media helpline and have been less than impressed. Their advice is to set everything to Ethernet and automatic and it should work. But it doesn't. They also said it might be the ethernet driver. Don;t really know what that means! I'm sure when I first opened my account with them it was more complex than that - I had to put in an account code etc. I can't find their booklet now and they won't send me another.
Might be because I brought my work laptop pc home recently although I've done that before with no probs.
Have tried switching everything off and switching on in sequence (modem then computer and powering down the modem for a while).
I ran a hardware check today and it came up no probs.
Please help - its driving me mad!
Thanks,
Dighty
