Hi all i have got my daughter's MacBook pro i believe pre 2012 and she done a factory refresh so she thought but now its stuck on os x page everytime it gets turned on.
Is there any way of getting it back to normal so it can be used again.
I have attached a picture of what comes up when turned on.
Any help would be great.

If the hard drive has been erased, you need to reinstall the OS. There is an option for that on the screen.

Looks like you're booting directly into "internet recovery", which would indicate some kind of "OS failure" on the internal drive.

Hope she has a backup.

In any case, what I'd try next is:
-- Try the "reinstall OS X" feature first. See if it works.

If you try this, and it still gives you problems...
Do you by any chance have a USB flashdrive laying around, 16gb or larger?
You could try using Disk Utility to erase it to HFS+ with journaling enabled.
Then, install a copy of the OS onto it.
Then, "set it up" with an account so that you can boot to it and "get to the finder".

The idea is to have a SECOND, external/bootable drive that will give you more options than you have by the screen you see above.

I did try to reinstall os but when it tries to get app it says not available at this time try later might have to take it to someone.

Took it to computer shop today and they said it can be saved.
Might be replacing harddrive with new electronic one which doesnt spin like old one (can remember name) just wait and see quote first.

That is a job you can do yourself with 2 screwdrivers and 20 minutes of patience.

You want an ssd (solid state drive) to replace your spinning disk, I would recommend a crucial MX series or a Samsung evo.

here is the guide to replace an hdd with an ssd if the shop proves too expensive.
