I've searched but could not find a thread that addresses this (no flames). Both the Early 09' and Mid '09 share the same bus speed but the RAM speed is different 667MHz v 800MHz. I assume the Early '09 will accept the faster DDR2 800Mhz RAM from the Mid '09, but will it run at the faster speed? Is this a firmware issue as the Nvida Macmini (same bus speed) uses DDR3 @ 1067MHz? This seems like a bummer of bottleneck in the bus.

The early '09 should both accept the 800mhz RAM, and run that RAM at 800mhz if installed.

The 1066mhz DDR3 setup in the Unibody MacBook and MacMini etc is just a faster FSB setup with different memory slots (on the surface). It's not a firmware/software issue.

Don't worry, performance-wise, you'll probably never notice a difference between 667 and 800mhz, and for that matter from 800mhz DDR2 to 1066mhz DDR3 (it's ~5% performance difference)
