Hello,

I have a Unibody Macbook 13" from 2008.
2 weeks ago, I could play any CD on it.
But for some reason, now when I stick a CD in, the CD drive would just make a constant ticking noise.

I tried the RAM resets, but it didn't work...

Guys got any ideas?

Start off with a disc cleaner, such as this:

If you're getting the "ticking" sound, it's your drive trying to refocus the laser. The laser lens is likely dirty. If you're still experiencing the clicking after cleaning the drive (a couple of times please!), then you'll need to get the drive looked at by a technician. They may have to disassemble the drive and manually clean the lens or replace the entire drive.
