After waiting to see the new line of pros I need to upgrade for more storage. I'm a light user mostly using the laptop web browsing and photo storage. I need a 512 gb SSD so I'm looking at the pro or macbook.

The pro has a larger screen and one more USB-C and costs about $1669

The macbook has the m3 processor and can be had at Best Buy for $1499

My question is does the Macbook have enough processing power or should I get the Pro? I'm coming from the non-retina Macbook with a 256gb SSD upgrade.

web browsing and photo storage? better get the macbook, but i prefer the m5 because it's comparable to the current air. the m3 is a bit slow.

how does the Macbook processor compare to the i3 in my current non-retina Macbook?

I would go with m5 if you can. The current m3 model is a bit better then the original baseline m model. The m3 might just do the job for most people. I picked up the original baseline model when the Macbook was first launch, I had to return it. It was just too slow. When the update model came out, I decided to give it another trial, I picked up the m5 model and I am very happy with it.
