could it be too much programs?

That seems about normal, I think the max temp for the mobile i7's and i5's is 100°C. It also depends on what you are doing in iTunes and Firefox. Movies and visualizations in iTunes will get the temps up, and watching videos or being on flash heavy websites in Firefox will do that too.

My 2007 C2D 17" runs at 65°C just idle, and it gets up to 105°C! (max is 110°C on mobile C2D's) Since I'm not sure what exactly you are doing, I can't really say if it is getting too hot or not. You could get smcFanControl, which allows you to set a minimum fan speed (2500 rpm works great) and see your cpu temp on the right side of the menu bar.:apple:

thank you for the help.. I guess its normal if you guys arnt surprised..
I think the best idea would be to get a laptop cooler are there any you guys recommend?

I don't particularly have a better one, I just use one I've always had :p It's a Targus that is supposed to match the MBP.

For my heavy encoding jobs, I have small industrial type blower fan blowing air over the top and underneith the MBP :D It's probably overkill (definitely).

thanks for the info :)

Those temps are perfectly normal. Flash sucks as far as decoding goes so it eats up a lot of cpu cycle, which make it heat up more. If it was truly overheating, and not just heating up, it would shut down.

by the way, what is this widget name ?
