Hello people! I have a "little" problem, hope some can help...

I recently purchased a firewire sound interface (Saffire PRO 40) and the day I installed it I had my Macbook crash for the first time. I did some research and found no similar reports, so I figured it was a fluke (wishful thinking :) )

Anyway, yesterday I did a full reinstall of the OS, installed all updates and my problem right now is this:

-- When my system is more-less idle (only Firefox and Skype are running) the CPU temperature is at cca. 65 C / fan speed 3200 rpm. Activity monitor shows no background applications running (it's 90% idle) - Firewire interface turned off!

-- When I turn on the firewire interface the CPU temperature goes up to 75-80 C, with no additional applications opened. Just the firewire interface turned on (It has it's own power supply). Still, the activity monitor shows nothing unusual (90% idle).

So my question is - Even if the main culprit was the sound interface, shouldn't the "normal" temperature when the interface is turned off be much lower?

Please help, I'm going nuts! :)
