I recently installed Windows XP under boot camp to test out some game performance with the latest windows drivers. Much to my dismay, after no more than a couple minutes of most games my poor macbook gets so hot that it is either forced into standby or shuts down completely. I have tried setting the fans to max in smcFanControl, but even with the macbook sitting up on my Elevator stand with fans running at 6200rpm the problem persists. Under OS X I often see temps nearing 95° C while running CPU and Graphics heavy applications and games, but the laptop never actually shuts down. Is there anything I can do to keep it cool enough for some gaming under windows?
