Hello,

I'm looking at picking up a macbook, and upgrading the HD and RAM. I was wondering if its possible to use those components in my G4 Powermac (MDD)- it'd be great to have a bit more RAM, and another drive in there- or if they are incompatible.

Anyone know?

Thanks...

My New Macbook

Hey,

So, I just ordered a new macbook...white / 2.2 ghz. I did not have apple upgrade anything for the following reasons:

It would have cost $1100 to have apple put in 4 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig HD.

I went to NewEgg.com and bought 4 gig of RAM and a 320 gig HD for $300.

According to my friend who is a Mac Genius at the apple store, it will not void your warranty to make changes on your own. Though, always a good idea to keep the original parts just so you can shove them back in before scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar...

hope this helps.

the MDD's used pc2100 (pc2700 for the 1.25ghz+) your MB uses something entirely so that won't work. if you want to use your MD hdd, get a 2.5" enclosure then you can use that as an external drive or as a backup when you replace hte drive in the macbook.
