I was using my macbook and i noticed that my power supply that came with the laptop was extremely hot, not the cord it was the white square box plugged into the wall. why is this happening and what should i do?

Normal, as it draws the power and converts it down to acceptable V and A levels. The more CPU is used during your activities with the Mac, the power more is needed, the hotter the power adapter gets.

If you use some kind of search engine, you might see, that this is a very common question.
