I know there are many threads about this, but many of them also have varying answers. I am having trouble understanding them and am wondering if it would give my aging computer a boost if I upgraded the RAM from 4GB (which I currently have) to 8GB. I mainly play WoW with my MBP and find it a bit slow, also it is getting slower all around--multitasking and whatnot. My specs are:
15" MacBook Pro August 2008
2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

So, If I upgraded to 8GB of RAM, would it be worth it and make my computer faster? Would my computer even recognize it as 8GB? And is it even worth it because my computer might be limited by something else that makes the RAM ineffective (like a slower processor / GFX card / logic board?

Thank you so much for your help! :)
