I have a bit of an interesting problem that I can seem to find my way through. I would appreciate some help, or at least a shove in the right direction.

I have a 2010 model Macbook Pro 15" with an i7 processor. It came with Snow Leopard originally.

I recently performed a secure wipe on my Macbook pro, assuming that I would have no problem restoring my OS (My fault for not doing enough research). Upon attempting recovery with internet recovery (no recovery image) I was prompted to install Lion. When I enter my account information, I am instructed to enter information for an account that has purchased Lion.

Here is the interesting part. I purchased Mountain Lion, but not Lion. I never installed Mountain Lion. Prior to wiping, it was still sitting in my dock waiting for install. I spoke with customer service and tech support and was told that there is no way for me to purchase Lion (was hoping for this as a quick fix) and they attempted to sell me the original Snow Leopard disks (lost my originals).

After trying a few things on my own, I finally gave in and purchased the disks. They arrived about a week later and I started the install process. A few seconds after choosing Snow Leopard install disk at boot, my macbook begins sounding a series of three beeps over and over.

The best answer I can find is that since I have installed a firmware update, the original software won't work anymore.

I have tried downloading copies of Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard. I have a Snow Leopard dmg file. I have a Mountain Lion ISO. I have an external drive and a usb stick that I am willing to use however I need to. I only have windows machines to work with for fixing this issue.

I have tried using virtualbox to install OS X and then create a recovery image. I am failing miserably at installing OS on virtualbox.

Anyone have a more simple solution?
