I'm trying to decide whether to spend the extra $300 on the 2.53. I currently own a Powerbook G4 1.5 and have noticed that it doesn't have the speed for HD video editing, but does work well for audio recording into Garage Band. Besides word processing and photoshop those are the two main things I will use the new computer for. Isn't 2.26 and 2gbs fast enough to edit video in Imovie?

Search.

This has been discussed way too many times.

The .26GHz is not future proofing, it is not noticeable, and it is not worth it.

Check the prices for OEMs for both processors and you will find that they cost the same (To the dollar). Save your money and buy an SSD.

4GB RAM costs about $65.
