Hi all

I have MacBook Pro 13 2017 with 163 battery cycle and battery condition was normal. Check with battery health 2 it has 85 % health.

But each time the battery reach below 20 % it would suddenly shutdown without warning, it seem like force shutdown.

I had reset SMC but it wasn't solve it.

Is it battery or mainboard error ?

Thank

Why are you letting the battery drop below 20% ? That's not good for the battery and will shorten its life. Download the free coconut battery app and check the condition of your battery: https://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/

In coconut battery the battery still in good condition.

I usually wasn't let it down below 20 %. I just want to know does the warning to shutdown would come out.

This behaviour is typical for a battery nearing end of life.

The official replace limit is 80% I believe. You are still a few percent over that, but in my experience the battery will detiorate rapidly once it starts shutting down with remaining charge.

Replace now or keep the battery fully charged and run a little while longer.

I guess that is clear indication that you must get the battery replaced.
