I got my macbook pro about 2 weeks ago and decided last week to test out a few games (Age of empires 3, World of Warcraft). I have been playing fine with no lag or anything, but today, when I fired up WoW, there was massive lag. I then tried the same with AoE 3 and still the same thing: massive lag.

Considering I have only had the laptop for TWO WEEKS I don't think it's a dead GPU, so can anyone help me as to what it might be please?

I can provide any other information that might be helpful for this problem.

Thank you.

Oh and I forgot to ask, is there any way I can reinstall the 320M drivers?

Are you playing this in bootcamp or in snow leopard? If your having this issue in OSX, I've never heard of reinstalling the driver. The driver is preinstalled in to the OS and shouldn't cause an issue. A driver update would come in the shape of an OS revision delivered via Apple Software Update.

If its two weeks old, take it to an Apple Store. They may need to replace it.

I am running Snow Leopard (I don't think I have even activated boot camp yet), and I would try a reinstall, but I need to get a backup hard drive first.

Any other tips before I send it into Apple to get a replacement/fix?

How about you try bootcamp. People are quick to send these things in for repair. You have a new mac so see if its a software issue before you take it in and get some refurbished part.

What do you mean by that? Should I install windows? I mean I don't have a windows CD that I can use.

Oh and what does bootcamp do exactly, apart from install windows?

Ok, I'll try get a windows CD, but the fact is, anything I do on normal mac causes me to have some sort of visual lag. I am quite sick of it now and really want it to work :(

I think I'll go with a full OSX reinstall. Thank you for all you input :)!

Check for any updates for OSX, 10.6.4 had some issues with graphics performance and there is a further update to correct this. This update was a while ago but maybe it's not installed?

I just ran software update tool and it says that everything is up to date o_O

There is graphic fix and improvement in the up coming 10.6.5 OS X. Read more about it or google it.
