Noticed today that my screen on my laptop wouldn’t close properly, upon closer inspection the track pad and bottom of laptop are bulging out I assume it’s the battery when I checked on apple site it said they have a battery warranty program when I typed my serial number in it said I’m not eligible ??

can I get this looked at for free or will I need to replace laptop all together only had it 2 years

What year is the Macbook? Definitely discontinue use and take it to Apple ASAP. You don't want it to expand more or potentially catch fire.

It’s 2017 bought it in 2018 when I go on apples replacement program it says it’s either not covered or I’m out of time only had the laptop a year and a half will it explode or catch fire if I keep it turned off ?

Since Apple Stores are closed right now, call Apple instead.
They'll send you an empty box, you pack and send it to them (they pay for shipping), they'll send it back with a new battery.

They may cover the cost (since it's not that old).
Even if they charge you, it should be around $199 (US). That's reasonable -- I'd pay it if they didn't cover it...

... and $199 to end up with a functioning laptop beats having the battery continue to expand and bend/damage the rest of the topcase irreparably.
