Hi everyone,
I currently have a late 2009 MBP 13" that is having some issues. One day I turn it on and I get a blank white screen. So I ran the Apple Hardware Test that came with the Macbook. It couldn't detect any issues. Then I decided to reinstall the OS. However, when it came to select which disk to install nothing showed up. I removed the HDD and connected it to an iMac via USB dock and the disk came up straight away with everything on it.
So I've concluded that it's down to the SATA cable or the controller. Is this a common issue? I thought I would try and buy a SATA cable, but I can't find anyone that stocks it. Or maybe it's another issue that I'm missing?
I would take it to an Apple Repair place, but the warranty just expired.
I would prefer to avoid paying a service charge if it's something I could fix myself.
Thanks in advance.
