Hey all:

Just picked up my 13" MBP from the Apple Store in Delaware and plugged my iPhone headphones in to listen to some music while at Newark airport, and instinctively pressed the pause button when asked a question, and it paused the song in iTunes! The double click works and triple click works too! Its way cool. It worked in Quicktime Player also.

The Mic on it also works with Quicktime Player when using it to record audio, and it works in Skype.

Just thought I'd pass on the good news :D

Does anyone know if the Unibody MacBooks can also receive these "click" commands?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the click functionality of the audio jack is related to the iTunes random start/stop problem, outlined here.

Almost like jiggling the speaker/headphone cord sends a false single to start/stop iTunes. Your experience?

The first gen-unibodies have this feature as well. My 15" MBP ("ExpressCard Edition") :D has done this since at least 10.5.6.
