Hi.

Is it normal to have a slight gap between the screen hinge and the body?
On right side there is about 1mm and on left side there is 2mm.
You can see it when the screen is open and when its closed on the back.

Ill try to attach pictures later.

But what do you guys amd girls think? :D
Does yours have a gap?

Thanks.

Yes, mine has the exact same gap; 2mm on one side and only 1mm on the other. It's normal as far as I know.

Same here. No worries, hinge works and everything lines up perfectly when closed (or opened).

I have a picture of a gap on my hinge from my review for the bestskinsever skin for the 13" MacBook Pro.

Left side where you can see the cable inside:

Good right side:

The black plastic piece can be easily adjusted from side to side. Just close the lid, press your thumbs with slight pressure on the black plastic (one thumb on each end), then slide it so the gap is even on both sides.

For what it's worth, the gaps in the photos provided in this thread are not what I would consider normal, but not potentially damaging to the components either. Very simply, these MacBooks and MacBook Pros have 3 screws securing the hinge to the Unibody. By backing off these three screws and moving the display assembly around, it can be aligned properly with the Unibody housing to eliminate these gaps.

It's supposed to be done at the factory and after every repair that involves removing the display assembly, but I suppose it doesn't always get done, it may get done but not to exactly the right specifications or the display may move slightly over time, although I have yet to see a display misalign itself from simple open and close cycles.

Any Apple Store or Apple Reseller should be able to correct it if you think it's becoming a problem. It's not a difficult job.

Be aware that the primary goal of this alignment is to ensure the display assembly doesn't "overhang" the base of the machine when closed. If the display assembly lines up perfectly when closed, then I would personally leave it as-is.

Thats fine except the gaps are NOT the HINGE, it is the black plastic cover that runs between the hinges. You can easily slide this cover left and right but it will end up one way or another in time anyway.
