Hey guys I'm planning to buy a 2018 13 inch MacBook Pro from b and h... what are your opinions on the deals for their laptops? seems better than the apple store and Best Buy deals since you don't pay tax.
Also another thing that I wanted to ask is can I use 8 B and H gift cards for a single purchase??

Remember B&H does not support returns once the factory packaging has been opened.

From their site:

"Nonreturnable items"

Opened computers and computer software — original packaging cannot be unsealed

wow what the hell so if theres an issue with the laptop can't I take it to the apple store - it would be under warranty

No. If it has an issues you can take it to an Apple store during the warranty period. But, you cannot just decide you would rather have a different model ("dang this scree is too small, I want a 15" or "128 GB is too small, I need a bigger drive") and return it, no questions asked, like you can for 14 days with a unit bought at apple.

Also, I not sure how Apple deals with minor issues like coil whine, etc with a system purchased at B&H.

Also check Adorama. AppleInsider dot com has a compendium of what stores have what $ off.

Don't forget to also check the Apple education store at ~$150 off -- also note the 20% off AC+, which represents $76 savings, plus the free Beats headphones (keep or sell for cash). You do pay tax though.

Also if you have a past or current university affiliation, check with them. Alumni can often buy through their school's stores. Oddly, AC+ via a university store can be even more discounted, i.e. $259 for MBP+.

I'd imagine so, but B&H would be the folks who can answer for sure.

I bought my 15'' from BH after test driving a 13'' and a 15'' from the Apple store and Bestbuy :)

B&H is an excellent company, but you need to buy the laptop with a sure mind and your eyes wide open to the fact that you're sure you want to buy the laptop.

It's stuff like this which will lead to Apple and Bestbuy eventually restricting their generous return policies.

I get legitimately discovering one made the wrong decision, but IMHO intentionally just test-driving is abusing their generosity.

EDIT: I am (possibly incorrectly) interpreting the test-drive as buying-using-returning one from each of the two stores. Nothing wrong with walking in and playing with the display units if that's what was done instead.

Those laptops are out on display for a reason. I see no problem when people test them out and buy the laptops elsewhere, especially if you can save money.

I interpreted the test-driving as buying and returning. If I misinterpreted and he just tried them out at the in-store displays, I have no problem with that.

Given that he test drove the machines at apple and bestbuy, I took it that he used the display models. Doesn't make sense to buy/return multiple times from multiple retailers imo

He mentioned 13 & 15 -- easy to see someone buying one from each store so as to spread out the returns.

As I said, if that's not what he did my comments are moot.
